About MilSim

About MilSim.Many moons ago thanks to a wonderful thing called the internet, Myself and a few others got together in Waiuku and started playing ball at a small block of bush at my inlaws, the first day out it was just two of us, Fish and Myself. Thanks to setting up a forum "Blackwater Waiuku" grew and grew bringing players from far and wide and a wide range of cultures.A few years down the track the Forum membership has snowballed into a large base of players who are all keen on one thing.... Playing walk on ball! Over summer the numbers are higher, but the real hardcore guys play all year round. Our home field is in WhiriWhiri Waiuku, The field is 35 acres with Bunkers, Huts, Trenches, Machine gun towers, A Crashed plane, A Bus that doubles as a control center on top of the Hill to name a few. As most people do, most of us started with a mechanical marker of some description, some have stuck with the mechanical route, while others have gone for speedball styled electropneumatic or Milsim electros, some have gone full circle and ended up with pistols or mag fed .68 cal rifles, so there are a wide range of markers to have a google at and possibly have a play should the owner oblige! We try to start the games about 10am, though with stragglers and time it takes to process people through the Chrono they can start a little later. Moving forward we will endeavour to start at 10am sharp, If you are not there, you wait. Most of the games we run are scenario based but not so complicated you need to take notes to wonder what the hell you are meant to be doing. Near the end of the day we like to restrict the field to the "CQB" area for some close quarters tactical games. These games make for a really fast and challenging game, with more shooting, less camping. The Basis of the CQB games are going to become a 3 Man Summer Series, which commences mid-late October. Some of the members also host games at smaller fields in between the larger games so it pays to check the forum often.
